Useful Websites for Learning Physics
phet.colorado.edu
This website is an excellent free resource that has many good simulations to help you visualize physics concepts. Remember, in physics, visualization is often more important than formulas, because an accurate visualization is what enables you to apply the formula correctly! In particular, I recommend for
O level students: 1. geometric optics; 2. Circuit construction kit; 3. Gas properties; 4. Faraday’s Law
A level students: 1. Projectile Motion; 2. Charges and Fields; 3. Friction; 4. Rutherford Scattering
ophysics.com
Similar to phet, this website has some useful simulations / visualizations. The visuals aren’t as colorful but they are more technical / quantitative, and hence suitable for some understanding some advanced concepts. For A level students, check out their double-slit interference and charged-particle in magnetic field visualizations. Superb.
For O level kids, check out their lens optics visualization.. 1 very big important lesson you can learn from that one.
desmos.com
More for A level students, this graphing calculator can help you better understand the link between the equations you learn and their respective graphs. Particularly useful for oscillation, gravitational field, electric field, superposition and nuclear physics (decay). Play around with variables and see how the graphs get affected. This tool is often under-utilized because there is no immediate need to use it, but I find that it is such a waste. Seriously kids, if you have some spare time, play around with formula an graphs. Your depth of understanding will sky-rocket!
I hope this helps! Study smart!
